THE FACIAL ARTERY:

The facial artery is a branch of the external carotid artery.
The branches include:
1. Ascending palatine artery
2. Tonsillar branch of facial artery
3. Submental artery
4. Inferior labial artery
5. Superior labial artery
6. Lateral nasal branch
7. Angular Artery
The Angular branch of the facial artery anastomoses with the ophthalmic artery.
This artery supplies the lower portion of the palatine tonsil, the submandibular gland, the facial muscles and fascia.
